Waivers

How gym waivers work in Handspring — who they cover, when they're required, and when to re-sign.

Updated June 4, 2026

A waiver is a gym's liability agreement. Gyms can require parents to sign one for each athlete before lessons take place at that location.

How they work#

  • Waivers are set by the gym and apply to lessons at that gym.
  • They're signed per athlete, by the parent.
  • When a gym requires one, the parent is prompted automatically at checkout.
  • If a gym updates its waiver, parents re-sign the new version.

Statuses#

On the parent Waivers page, each gym shows one of: Signed, Update available, Action required, or Not required.

Not every gym requires a waiver. If a gym hasn't set one up, its status simply reads Not required and lessons proceed normally.
