Notifications (SMS & email)

How Handspring keeps everyone informed — by text and email — across the lesson lifecycle.

Updated June 4, 2026

Handspring leans on text messages for anything time-sensitive — like a lesson request to confirm — and email for receipts and longer details. Notifications go to the right person for each event.

What triggers a message#

MomentWho hears about it
A lesson is requested or confirmedThe parent, and the coach
A reminder before a lessonThe parent
A lesson is closed out (receipt)The parent
A tip is receivedThe coach
A waitlist updateThe relevant coach or family
Account events (verification, etc.)The account holder

Staying reachable#

Because so much runs over text, a current phone number matters. Parents can review their details in settings.

Your timezone determines when reminders land and how lesson times are shown — keep it accurate in settings.
