Notifications (SMS & email)
How Handspring keeps everyone informed — by text and email — across the lesson lifecycle.
Updated June 4, 2026
Handspring leans on text messages for anything time-sensitive — like a lesson request to confirm — and email for receipts and longer details. Notifications go to the right person for each event.
What triggers a message#
| Moment | Who hears about it |
|---|---|
| A lesson is requested or confirmed | The parent, and the coach |
| A reminder before a lesson | The parent |
| A lesson is closed out (receipt) | The parent |
| A tip is received | The coach |
| A waitlist update | The relevant coach or family |
| Account events (verification, etc.) | The account holder |
Staying reachable#
Because so much runs over text, a current phone number matters. Parents can review their details in settings.
Your timezone determines when reminders land and how lesson times are shown — keep it accurate in settings.
