Tips
Tips are an optional thank-you for your coach, with no Handspring platform fee. Here's how they work.
Updated June 4, 2026
A tip is an optional extra a parent adds to thank a coach for a great session. Unlike lesson fees, a tip carries no Handspring platform fee and no gym split — none of it goes to the platform or the gym.
No platform fee — processing still applies
Handspring takes no platform fee or split on a tip. Standard card-processing fees (Stripe's) still apply, the same as on any card payment.
The essentials#
- A lesson can be tipped once it has started or finished.
- Each lesson can receive one tip, up to $500.
- The tip is charged to the parent's card on file.
- Tips appear on the lesson receipt and in the coach's transaction history.
Two ways to tip#
Parents can tip inside the app from a completed lesson, or from a one-time link sent by text or email after closeout — no login required.
For coaches, tips arrive as part of your normal balance and can be paid out like any other earnings.
